3. Draft the database roadmap document
The vision, goals, and action plan (which includes dependencies between activities, roles and responsibilities and timelines) should be compiled into a single, comprehensive reference document which constitutes the ‘Draft version of the LCA database roadmap’. All available resources, such as the information on this LCA Helpdesk, experiences from other national database initiatives, and the discussion forums, should be consulted to ensure all relevant aspects are covered in the database roadmap.
It is advisable to draft a dissemination plan to gain support and attract interest at an early stage.
In terms of data, the database roadmap should contain, at a minimum, an indication of prioritized data needs and how they might be obtained, e.g. through direct measurement campaigns (primary data collection), from some existing database or data sources (secondary data) or models/tools for inventory generation.
